10. Quaker Steak & Lube Express

Quaker Steak & Lube is actually a motor sport themed restaurant that can be found through out the eastern part of the United States. This particular QS & L Express in Oakland is a little bit different. Unlike the other QS & Ls, it's more of a fast food style of serving, as opposed to the sit down restaurant style. You go up to place your order and they will shout your name on the PA system once its done and you go collect your food from a window by the kitchen.
So...what's good at the Quaker Steak & Lube? WINGS, WINGS & more WINGS! They serve the best wings ever! It's been voted the best wings in USA. They have 19 flavors to choose from, starting with the very mild and buttery Ranch and it gets hotter and hotter until it reaches Atomic. They make you sign a release form when you order the Atomic wings!! It says on the menu " One bite sets your pores a steamin', ears a hummin' and temples a throbbin'" ;P We still haven't had the guts to try the Atomic but our favorite so far is the Louisiana Lickers.

This is the Louisiana Lickers and Cheese Fries combo. The seasoning/sauce is a mix of Hot, Cajun, Garlic and BBQ. Really really yummy!

I had the Honey Mustard and Rings combo. It's a sweet mix of Dijon mustard and Honey. The onion rings were extra large and really good.

Here is a picture of Kevin with his best friend Chris and Chris's gf Amanda during our recent trip to Pittsburgh. The decor of the whole restaurant has a motor sport theme. Because of it's location in Oakland, this QS & L Express is always filled with student from the University of Pittsburgh. It is also open til late, around 11:00pm. Head out to the Quaker Steak & Lube Express in Oakland the next time you are hungry for wings. Trust me, they are the best in town!
