Double Choc Chip & Walnut Cookies

We bought a box of instant Ghirardelli Chocolate Walnut Brownie Mix the other day, planning to just whip up some fast instant brownies after dinner during one of the weeknights. I later saw a recipe on the back of the box for Double Choc Chip and Walnut Cookies. It seems that you can make that with brownie mix, just by adding in a few other ingredients.

You would need a box of brownie mix (like doh!), an egg, 1 stick of butter, 1 cup of semi sweet chocolate chips and some walnuts (optional).

First, place one stick of soften butter in a mixing bowl.

Then, crack in one egg.

Using a mixer, cream the butter and egg.

Add in one packet of brownie mix. Continue to mix it with the mixer.

Add in a cup of semi sweet chocolate chip cookies. Fold that into the mix with a spatula.

Line a cookie tray with parchment paper. Using two teaspoons, drop the cookie dough balls onto the tray. Top each dough ball with a walnut piece.

Pop the cookie tray into a 350F oven for about 12 minutes.

There you go. A tray of freshly baked Double Choc Chip & Walnut Cookies! They were surprisingly yummy! I never knew that we could use brownie mix to make cookies. It tasted like those soft and chewy cookies from Mrs Fields or Famous Amos. Go ahead and try it. It's so easy to make!! :D

Oh these cookies look really good! I love that brand of brownie mix, it makes such rich tasting brownies - I bet the cookies were delicious and rich too.

Thanks! :D Yeah I love that brand too! I should have used Ghirardelli Choco Chips though, would have made it even better.
