Lunchables Field Trips for All Contest

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Lunchables. All opinions are 100% mine.

I have many fond memories of my childhood and my school days. Out of all the fun and educational things that we have done in school, my all time favorite are the field trips! I'm pretty sure that I'm not alone on this. Many people from all walks of life, from all over the world, have benefited tremendously from field trips. I still can recall my first field trip. I was in Kindergarten and we went to the fire station. For a small child, it was the most exciting thing ever! There were many field trips that followed over the years, visits to the zoo, museums, the science center, the planetarium, factories as well as the TV station. The trill of actually seeing all the stuff that we learnt from textbooks actually coming to life is an experience in itself! Nothing can beat the hands on experiences that children gain from field trips. It makes education more exciting and fun!

Did you know that according to the 2009 report from The American Association of School Administrators, it’s estimated that the number of school districts eliminating field trips will increase by 56 percent, over the course of the current school year. That's like more than 30,000 schools! How horrible is that? Teachers and educators then have to hold fundraisers to raise money to keep field trips in their school. However, sometimes there are insufficient funds raise and the school will have to do away with field trips.

Thankfully, Lunchables has launched a new initiative called Project Potential. It is aimed at empowering kids with opportunities to help them reach their full potential and Project Potential will provide enriching experiences kids might otherwise not have. The first effort from from this new initiative is called Field Trips For All. All you need to do is head over to their website, fill in your particulars and nominate a deserving classroom to win. Also, you need to tell them why you think they deserve to win this award. It's really simple, even a 6 year old child can do it. Yup, that's right. Anyone 6 years of age or older can nominate a deserving classroom by going to http://www.lunchables.com/potential/ and submitting a nomination. From all nominations received, 50 classrooms will be selected to go on an inspiring, educational experience! This is an opportunity too good to pass. Let everybody know of this contest. Post it up on your Facebook status, tweet about, let everyone know! If you do not have kids, don't worry. You can always nominate your nephews, nieces, neighbors kids or friends kids class. I did. I nominated my niece's 4 grade class for this. Who would you nominate? Leave a comment and tell me why! Better hurry, nominations are being accepted from now through June 1, 2010 only.
