Strawberry Champagne Punch

This is another simple recipe that is great for dinner parties. It also goes really well with the Chocolate Covered Strawberries. You can make it in a big punch bowl or in individual glasses. Since I'm only making it for Kevin and myself this time around, I'll be using regular white wine glasses. Of course it would look better in a champagne flute but unfortunately, we do not have any :P

The first thing you need to do is to slice up a few small/medium sized strawberries. Place them at the bottom of the glass.

Pour in some ginger ale, about 1/3 of the glass, just enough to cover the strawberries.

Next, top it up with some champagne. Of course we know that I'm using the word champagne as synonym for sparkling wine, since certain laws reserves the word 'champagne' for wines originating from the Champagne region in France. Any type of sparkling white wine will do, be it the Italian Spumante, Spanish Cava or any other types. We used a cheap bottle of Italian Asti that cost us only $5.99 for a 750ml bottle (no point in using expensive stuff, since it's just for a punch) :P

There you go. A nice looking glass of Strawberry Champagne Punch. It looks great and surprisingly (wasn't expecting too much cos the Asti didn't taste that great when drunk by itself), it tasted awesome! It must be the blend of ginger ale and strawberries that worked wonders! Serve this as a pre dinner drink at your next party, I'm pretty sure your guests will just love it!!
